About Tori Richard:
Tori Richard was founded in 1956 by Mort Feldman, and partners Mitsue Aka and Janice Moody, who named the company after daughter Victoria Moody and son Richard Feldman. They began by making women’s resort clothing and in 1969 added men’s Hawaiian style shirts.
In the 1960s Tori Richards became known for their use of engineered prints – prints specifically designed to fit a garment’s shape. The clothing was very fashion forward and was often featured in leading fashion magazines. By the late 1980's the company had all but abandoned its women’s wear, focusing on men’s Hawaiian shirts.
